Tilting pad thrust bearings: Maverick has designed and manufactured customized tilting pad thrust bearings for many rotating machinery based on broad experience. Self-equalising bearings have excellent force balancing function which allows each shoe to carry an equal amount of the total thrust load.
In tilting pad thrust bearings the self-equalising design distributes the load more evenly among the pads compared to a non-equalising bearing and the load capacity is greatly improved over non-equalizing bearings. When a thrust load is applied, the thrust pad is designed to apply a load against the upper levelling plate which forces the lower levelling plates on either side to tilt slightly and raise
the pads on the other side.
